You know, I was always on the fence about Dan Stevens, but the news of him leaving make me sad. I didn’t really enjoy Downton Abbey’s second season, and I gave up on watching third season halfway through, but he has been with the snow since the beginning and surely filming 7 episodes doesn’t take that long. British series don’t last ten seasons like American ones (well maybe with the exception of Red Dwarf, but that’s a different genre), so why leave now? First Jessica Brown Findlay leaves, now Dan Stevens. Would it really hurt them both to stay for one more season, which probably would be DA’s last? It just makes me a little sad, and I’ll be even more sad if Matthew leaves Mary. I think I’d rather have him killed off, because then we’ll be spared another season of will they/won’t they go back.
